Recently, ASJ (Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong and Macao Students) Foshan held a meaningful "New Year Charity Carnival." The event raised RMB 40,980 through charity sales, all of which was donated to the "Emergency Charity Relief Program" of the Foshan Charity Federation, designated specifically for the earthquake-stricken Jishishan County in Linxia Prefecture, Gansu, to support emergency rescue and post-disaster reconstruction efforts.

The donation ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Yuan Jinwei, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Social Organization Administration, and Mr. Du Meng, Deputy Chief of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Section of the Municipal Party Committee's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office. Mr. Ren Hai, Director of the Charity Promotion and Social Work Division of the Foshan Civil Affairs Bureau and Secretary-General of the Foshan Charity Federation, accepted the donation check and presented a Certificate of Donation.
Under the theme of "World Multiculture," students from ASJ Foshan, organized by class and with the guidance and support of teachers, parents, and partners, utilized their after-school time to unleash their creativity. They independently planned and set up 20 charity bazaar stalls, offering nearly 80 different products representing various countries and cultures, including handicrafts, gourmet snacks, cultural and creative products, plants, and daily necessities.
The students worked together in teams – some were responsible for promoting the stalls to attract passersby, others introduced and explained the products, some designed interactive games to enhance visitor engagement, and still others prepared food and hot drinks by hand, adding warmth to the winter campus.

This event was an unforgettable experience for every student. They felt that through this charity bazaar, they not only developed their business acumen, planning skills, and practical abilities, but also gained a deep sense of fulfillment knowing that the proceeds would go to the earthquake-stricken areas. They came to understand more profoundly the meaning of patriotism and compassion for their fellow citizens. As students took action to express their kindness, parents from Hong Kong and Macao also devoted tremendous enthusiasm to supporting the event, contributing their own strength to the relief efforts. This unity between home and school added even greater significance to the activity. The educational mission of ASJ has always been not only to cultivate outstanding academic talents but also to nurture a sense of patriotism and social responsibility among Hong Kong and Macao students – encouraging them to grow through practice and contribute meaningfully to society and the nation through their own efforts. We firmly believe that this was more than just a charity bazaar – it was an education in respect for life, and a hands-on practice of the educational mission for Hong Kong and Macao youth. It is our hope that this event has planted a seed of love in every student's heart – one that will take root, grow, and thrive, teaching them that every small act of kindness matters, and that together, they can become pillars of society.
